Hey guys, lets pick up where we left off. We were talking about how you should pack your “Travel Surfboard Bag for a surf trip”, using towels and duct tape for extra protection, since you’ll be taking towels anyway. Should you use bubble wrap? Not necessarily, a good Travel Surfboard Bag and the use of properly placed towels should do the job. Towels are better, as you SHOULD still have them for use on the return trip. Bubble wrap may not be around for the return trip. If you have friends like mine, they’ll be popping the bubbles all trip long anyway, making the bubble wrap useless within your Travel Surfboard Bag for your return trip. Nose and Tail Guards are also an inexpensive way to help protect your surfboards at the points where they may need it most. If budget allows, Surfboard Socks are also a GREAT way to pack for a trip because you can use them INSIDE your Travel Surfboard Bag for extra protection AND you’ll have a bit of day to day protection once you get to your destination. Of course we have everything you’ll need for your next surf trip. Please let me know if you need any help selecting your gear!

How to Pack Your Travel Surfboard Bag
Chris here, with summer surf trips right around the corner I figured we should talk about the best way to pack your Travel Surfboard Bag for a trip. First rule DEFINITELY opt. for a Travel Surfboard Bag instead of a Surfboard Day Bag when packing for a surf trip. (Reasons discussed in previous posts.) Next decide how many boards you’re going to be taking on your surf trip and use an appropriate sized Travel Surfboard Bag. Half the battle is using the proper fitting bag, the less space your boards have to move around inside the bag the better. Should you use extra packing material? Possibly, for piece of mind. My suggestion, use your beach towels and some duct tape. (You should ALWAYS take duct tape on a surf trip, if nothing else you can use it to hold your rental car together, don’t ask. lol) Your taking beach towels anyway right? So, use them. Wrap them around the top and bottom boards and tape them in place, you don’t need get tape on the boards, just wrap it around the towels to keep them in place within your Travel Surfboard Bag.
