Hey guys! Just finishing up my discussion on the Fiji Pro and the different FCS, Futures and Kinetik Fin choices that we saw, so lets get back to it! I expected to see Mick Fanning on his FCS MF-1 signature fins, but to my surprise at least at one point I saw him riding the NEW GMB’s in Performance Core Green. He obviously thought the surf justified using bigger fins than his own FCS MF-1 template, hence we saw him on those NEW GMB’s. We saw PLENTY of Thrusters and Quads alike from both FCS and Futures, proving that the quad is truly here to stay. Though we didn’t see the Knubster anywhere, the last time I saw it was the New York Pro with Kelly’s MASSIVE air. I was also surprised to find that the split of surfers using FCS vs Future Fins seemed to be lopsided towards FCS by about 3 to 1 or so. So, for the moment the Pro’s still lean towards FCS as a whole, even in the BIG surf that Fiji had to offer.
