"Very, Very Fast"
- Kent F., Myrtle Beach, SC on the Kinetik JP Quad
Home Break: Myrtle Beach Where did you surf these fins: Myrtle Beach Wave Height: 2 - 4 ft. Wave Conditions: Good Misc. Wave/Location Information: N/A
Type of Board: Shortboard Board Size: 5 ft. 10 in. Fin Setup: Quad Misc. Board Information: N/A
Other Thoughts: Very very fast out of the gate and fast down the line while keeping some speed through turns. Control was great for nice roundhouses but also turns on a dime for nice snaps of the lip with easy flowing release. Used these fins on 5'10" Firewire Dominator. Tested these fins 4 days then bought them.
Home Break: Santa Cruz Where did you surf these fins: Pleasure Point, The Hook Wave Height: 5 - 6 ft. Wave Conditions: Fair Misc. Wave/Location Information: N/A
Type of Board: Big Guy Shortboard Board Size: 8 ft. Fin Setup: Quad Misc. Board Information: I used these fins a few sessions with the Futures 5th. Fin.
Other Thoughts: These fins have a lot of drive and hold. When combined with the TMF 5th fin they really felt like a good mix between a skate-ier quad setup and a thruster. I might try some other quad fins through the Finatic program that are smaller and release a bit more.
Home Break: Stuart, FL Where did you surf these fins: Stuart, FL Wave Height: 2 - 4 ft. Wave Conditions: Good Misc. Wave/Location Information: One session 3-5 ft. critical clean barrels and closeouts inside on the shelf that got windy more closed out over an couple hours
Type of Board: Shortboard Board Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Fin Setup: Quad Misc. Board Information: Libtech Aireola, a little wider squash and less rocker than the regular psb
Other Thoughts: Super fast out of the gate and down the face. They felt a little big for me and "holdy" on the open face but I didn't get a chance to do much turning. For the type of waves that day they felt good, holding and tracking nice in hollow critical waves.
"Brings Life to a Stiff Board"
- Robert K., Agoura Hills, CA on the Kinetik JP Quad
Home Break: undisclosed Where did you surf these fins: Santa Cruz 4 mile Wave Height: 2 - 4 ft. Wave Conditions: Fair Misc. Wave/Location Information: N/A
Type of Board: Shortboard Board Size: 6 ft. 1 in. Fin Setup: Thruster Misc. Board Information: Lost psychoward
Other Thoughts: These fins are very similar to the Gams (Al Merricks template) The only difference is this fin has more rake making it a little looser with a little less drive. So for a stiff board go with these but if your looking for drive Gam. I ended going back to the Gam on the board but would go for this setup on a step up. Or any wave condition you want to scrub some speed. This is definately a fin that could bring life to a board that you thought was to stiff. Holds the turn incredibly well as a final note
