The inlay of the two materials (Carbon and Honeycomb) create a torsional flex pattern for storing and releasing potential kinetic energy energy back into the Fins. Future Fins Black Stix 3.0 are HERE! - Over the past 10 years the Blackstix have become a staple in the Futures line, proving to be the best option when a lively, fast fin is needed. While keeping the Ride Number of the Blackstix series in the 10 to 7 range, they've made some improvements to bring you the all new 3.0! Continuing on with their V2 foil speed generation, they've added a 23º unidirectional carbon throughout the fin to stiffen up the base for increased drive. This new carbon also creates more snap in the tip, loading up and releasing even more energy it's counterpart. Overall, the new 3.0's keep that springy, fluid and responsive feeling while adding more stiffness in just the right places to harness more power in turns.
