What can we say about Channel Islands Surfboards? Yes, some have come to know them as "CI" Surfboards, but honestly when you've been around 50 years does it matter? No. What matters is Channel Islands Surfboards are a staple in the surf industry and for good reason, they span 3 generations and carry 20 world titles. Channel Islands Surfboards set the standard and now they've come home, to The Surfboard Warehouse.

Channel Islands Fever Surfboard
The Channel Islands Fever has its roots in Al Merrick’s trusted and proven high performance short board designs. The goal in designing the Fever with Mike Andrews and Patrick Gudauskas was to create a more accessible tour level performance board that anyone who jumped onto it would “instantly feel the speed and zest for creativity.” Borrowing Pat’s favorite elements of the Proton, Rookie and MBM, and combining them with a subtle single concave and lower rocker resulted in a board with a huge sweet spot. The Channel Islands Fever has a slightly more parallel outline and forgiving rocker and has proven to be an all-around design that excels in a wide range of conditions and wave types.

The Channel Islands Fever was born from a desire for an all-around performance board based on elements I love, Speed, Drive, and Flair.  My Goal in designing this board with Mike Andrews and Channel Islands was to create a surfboard that I could surf in almost any conditions and have a hell of a good time on it.  I wanted a more accessible Tour Performance board that anyone who jumped onto it would instantly feel the speed and zest for creativity. - Patrick Guidauskas

You can surf your Channel Islands Fever in anything from 2-3 foot softer California style beach break and point break waves, to 6ft+ World Tour style waves, like Snapper, J Bay, Bells, Lowers, Haleiwa, and Backdoor. Ride your Fever just above a groveler/small wave board and all the way until your need a step-up or round tail surfboard.

Additional Information:
I surf the Channel Islands Fever the same dimensions as my normal shortboard. For me my normal dims. are 5’10” x 18 1/2 x 2 1/4, I have been enjoying a full 2 1/4 just because it gives extra stability and flow to the board, and with the hip on the tail it can hold a little extra volume through to the rail. Pretty straight forward as your normal dimensions. - Patrick Guidauskas

Spine-Tek EPS:
Channel Islands has announced a collaboration with Shapers Australia to launch a material called SPINE-TEK; a precision engineered stringer spine utilizing a unique composition of fiberglass and resin. SPINE-TEK is based on the principles of elastic energy, to flex under pressure and then return the surfboard back to its natural rocker, providing surfboards with a more lively and responsive feel.

Performance through innovation, SPINE-TEK® is a Channel Islands world’s first with its unique fiber-based composition, delivers optimal flex based performance through the principles of elastic & kinetic energy. Through this process the surfboard loads up on energy and then releases, generating additional drive, speed, power & flow.

Weighing a mere ¼ of a pound and installed in the surfboard deck, SPINE-TEK replaces the traditional heavier timber stringers and is virtually break free. Spine-Tek is now available in any custom EPS board and comes stock in select models.
