What can we say about Channel Islands Surfboards? Yes, some have come to know them as "CI" Surfboards, but honestly when you've been around 50 years does it matter? No. What matters is Channel Islands Surfboards are a staple in the surf industry and for good reason, they span 3 generations and carry 20 world titles. Channel Islands Surfboards set the standard and now they've come home, to The Surfboard Warehouse.

Channel Islands OG Flyer Surfboard
Channel Islands all-time most popular design is The OG Flyer.  In 1999 Al was searching for a solution to team riders’ dilemma of needing more speed and flow in lesser waves while maintaining high performance, world tour level surfing. The answer was the OG Flyer a board that departed from the then overly narrow designs and set the stage for the modern performance shortboard that is now wider and shorter. The Channel Islands OG Flyer is easily the most ridden and enjoyed all around board in Channel Islands history.

Additional Information: Best as an everyday surfboard in everyday conditions, the Channel Islands Flyer has a single concave entry to double through the middle and a vee exit, Al’s signature bump squash, slight down rail, and a subtle nose beak. The Channel Islands OG Flyer is to be ridden approximately the same length as you are tall.

Spine-Tek EPS: Channel Islands has announced a collaboration with Shapers Australia to launch a material called SPINE-TEK; a precision engineered stringer spine utilizing a unique composition of fiberglass and resin. SPINE-TEK is based on the principles of elastic energy, to flex under pressure and then return the surfboard back to its natural rocker, providing surfboards with a more lively and responsive feel.

Performance through innovation, SPINE-TEK® is a Channel Islands world’s first with its unique fiber-based composition, delivers optimal flex based performance through the principles of elastic & kinetic energy. Through this process the surfboard loads up on energy and then releases, generating additional drive, speed, power & flow.

Weighing a mere ¼ of a pound and installed in the surfboard deck, SPINE-TEK replaces the traditional heavier timber stringers and is virtually break free. Spine-Tek is now available in any custom EPS board and comes stock in select models.
