Firewire Machado Seaside Surfboard

Firewires product development is centered around three things: The exclusive use of epoxy resins and EPS foam cores, developing lighter and stronger surfboards through sandwich construction, and optimizing flex to maximize performance.

Firewire Machado Seaside Surfboard

When it comes to the Machado Seaside Surfboard, Rob can be quoted as saying, "Just evolving the Go Fish to something new, really. The Go Fish goes fast and feels skatey and loose and I love it, and riding it for a couple years made me want to feel more high performance – more carves, tighter turns. So the Seaside is about refining… less area in the tail, narrowing the tips of the swallow, creating more curve and narrowing the nose. All elements for ripping while the Go Fish stays cruisey and fun."The Seaside carries some subtle concaves all the way through the tail with a "spine" running down the middle. Overall the outline of the FireWire Seaside, carries a lot of the characteristics of the Go Fish, with a pulled in tail and nose for a cleaner outline that's a bit more high performance.

Firewire Slater Designs Seaside Surfboard Tech - Helium
Firewire is keeping their new Tech close to the chest until their new surfboards actually hit our shores. That said, here's what we know. With Helium there's no need to paint the board, as they are white skins, creating a noticeable weight savings. For example, a 5ft. 8in. Dominator Helium weighs just over 5 pounds, while the FST version comes in at 6 pounds and the Timber Teck version weighs 6.5 pounds. Firewire Helium is stronger, with the Integrity of FST, but with a better bond since Helium Surfboards don't have to be painted. Ultimately, this means the Helium Firewire Helium surfboards are lighter, but just as strong when it comes to breaking.

Additional Information:
The Firewire Machado Seaside Surfboard is intended for 3 ft. to 6 ft. surf, has medium/full rails and comes only as a Quad setup. Think GO Fish, but being able to take it in a bit steeper waves.
