Home Break: El Porto Where did you surf these fins: El Porto, Trestles, Salina Cruz Wave Height: 4 - 6 ft. Wave Conditions: Good Misc. Wave/Location Information:
Type of Board: Shortboard Board Size: 5 ft. 11 in. Fin Setup: Thruster Misc. Board Information: Round Nose Fish
Other Thoughts: Great overall fin. Good hold, excellent drive yet still very maneuverable, I really liked the feel of the kevlar base. I was able to compare these fins to a set of the cheap f4 fins that come with the board... just absolute world of difference. The board was instantaneously quicker with more drive and speed, I didn't think fins could affect performance that much but my board surfed like a dog with the f4 fins compared with the AI fins. Definitely recommend
"Draws Turns like a Larger Size Fin" - Katie R., San Diego, CA on the Kinetik Andy Irons Carbotune
Home Break: OB Where did you surf these fins: OB Wave Height: 4 - 6 ft. Wave Conditions: Fair Misc. Wave/Location Information: N/A.
Type of Board: Shortboard Board Size: 6 ft. 4 in. Fin Setup: Thruster Misc. Board Information: N/A
Other Thoughts: Fins were heavy and strong. For the average size they seemed to draw turns like a larger size fin. Stiff flex. Didn't let my board surf the shoulder to head high beach stuff as free as I'd hoped. They destroyed some of the cleaner sections though. Probably a better fin if I rode a smaller board, or if the waves were bigger/cleaner. Problem is that beachies aren't clean and open that often.
